Max's Blog - November 29, 2012

I cannot believe how fast Movember has flown by! It has been a while since I last wrote a blog. I have missed it so much! My last time writing, I barely had whiskers but now my moustache is like a mini Jungle! It is almost unbearable, I may need to shave it before Friday’s Monarchs game! There is just so much to catch up on!
Let’s start with the Monarchs Mullets In Movember game which was a big hit yet again! It was awesome to see everyone donning their purple mullets and moustaches for the cause of raising awareness of men’s cancers. The Monarchs debuted a special Movember moustache video using Jimmy Buffet’s song “Pencil Thin Moustache.” The video is amazing so if you missed it, you can catch it here.
The Monarchs are in first place in the Atlantic Division once again and are wrapping up what has been a very busy month here in Monarchs Country! The other teams in the division are right behind the Monarchs so the team needs all the support we can give them this weekend when they play the Springfield Falcons and Portland Pirates.
I love having long weekends like last week with the Thanksgiving holiday. I ate more food than one lion should eat (the more turkey the better) and then helped out at the Monarchs Black Friday game while they held their annual Toys For Tots toy drive. It was great to be there and see all of the gracious gifts Monarchs Country brought for children in need this holiday season. Thanks to everyone for helping out! It is times like these I am so proud to be a member of Monarchs Country!
With the Monarchs playing eight home games during Movember, I barely had time to get out of The Jungle! I did find time to go to the Bedford Parent Teacher Group Ski & Skate fundraiser. Thanks to all your generosity, Bedford students will be provided with outstanding educational programs!
There was a great showing in the Jungle on Tuesday night for the Monarchs Ticket Package Holder Meet and Greet. The Monarchs told me it was the best one yet! If you couldn’t make the meet and greet, there will be another chance to get some autographs from a couple players and myself at Weathervane Seafoods on Wednesday, December 5 starting at 5:30 p.m.!
Looking ahead to this weekend, Monarchs Country has another busy weekend following the Monarchs with a home-and-home series against the Falcons on Friday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena and Saturday night in Springfield at 7:00 p.m. The Monarchs close their weekend in a Sunday matinee against the rival Portland Pirates in the fourth VIP Cup match-up at 3:00 p.m.!
Also this weekend, I will be getting festive when I march in the Manchester Holiday Parade this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. I will then get warm at the Manchester Historical Society’s Holiday Party/Open House. Later on Saturday, I will be in Pelham at the town common as they have their annual Festival of Trees on Saturday afternoon.
It has been a busy and crazy month here in Monarchs Country and I would not have it any other way! Let me know what you are doing! I hop to see you all this weekend! Go Monarchs!
